CREED

 
Creed was formed in Tallahassee, Florida in 1995 with the name Naked Toddler when Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti, playing together and started writing songs. Then they added bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips. Then they changed the name to be called the Creed of Marshall's previous band, "Maddox Creed".

They work in bars directly, where they attract the attention of Jeff Hanson, who allow them to play in a bigger place. Then Hanson persuaded producer John Kurzwegg to produce Creed songs. Their first album, My Own Prison, was launched and distributed to radio stations Florida. It attracts the attention of several labels that agreed to see the band, but instead just see. Accidentally, Diana Meltzer from Wind-Up Records heard Creed direct play. Finally he put under the label Creed Wind-Up. After a remix to make it more delicious, My Own Prison, was relaunched by Wind-Up Records.

The album succeeded unexpectedly successful, reaching the Top 40 on the Billboard Top 200, and raises several singles ( "My Own Prison," "Torn," "What's This Life For," and "One" which peaked at rock radio charts. Song hit "My Own Prison," also appeared as a live performance at a charity album, Live in the X Lounge. Their second album, Human Clay, was launched in 1999. Single of the album, "Higher," a few weeks at the top of the rock charts. Until early in 2000 the single crossing into pop radio and became a Top Ten in the Billboard Pop Chart. Advanced single, "With Arms Wide Open", also hit number 1 in the summer of that year.

Meanwhile, Brian Marshall blame the fans when he criticized Pearl Jam at a radio station. He was later expelled from the band, and Brett Hestla over tour putting Human Clay. At that time, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit insult Stapp in a festival where the band performed. Responding to act Fred Durst, Scott Stapp invited Fred Durst for a boxing match, where Durst refused.

In the fall of 2001, My Sacrifice, the first single from Creed's latest album, Weathered, worn in a series of promotional videos made by the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). "Young Grow Old", side-b of the Human Clay, was also used as the theme song for WWE Backlash on April 2002. In early 2002, "Bullets" was released as a single. Singlets are not counted fairly successful, but immediately raises Creed summers biggest hit, "One Last Breath".

Stapp had an accident in April 2002, which made the tour that had them  not seem so. But Stapp recovered in time to participate in the final performance. "Do not Stop Dancing" was a small hit of the Creed in late 2002 / early 2003.

Creed rumored in 2003 that Stapp take drugs so that he could not sing the lyrics of Creed. Yet the issue be deleted. Problems continued when Creed was rumored to convey religious messages in music and video. Most of these treatment directed by Stapp, although he denied any link between religion and the band. This resulted in Stapp left the band.

On June 4, 2004, Creed broke up. Stapp has recorded a solo album, The Great Divide, in cooperation with Roadrunner Records, while others have formed a new band, Alter Bridge, with Myles Kennedy. Bassist Brett Hestla also joined the band Dark New Day.
